Chairman, Jebsen & Co

Decorated by the governments of Hong Kong, Denmark and Germany, Hans Michael Jebsen has led the family business since 2000. The Danish family has traded in Hong Kong and China for over 120 years, moving the likes of luxury cars and cameras to beer and fine wines. It now has an investment arm, Jebsen Capital. Jebsen is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of New York-based Asian Cultural Council (ACC) and chairs ACC Hong Kong.

Founder and CEO, Ovolo

Entrepreneur Girish Jhunjhnuwala extended his family’s watch business into serviced apartments and then transitioned these into design-led boutique hotels. Ovolo, which began life in 2002, now has four properties in Hong Kong and has raced into the Australian market. With his Singapore-based brother, Surya, he co-directs the hotel brand, Hind Group. Jhunjhnuwala is a prominent figure in the Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Restaurateur

The stylish wife of Girish Jhunjhnuwala, the hotelier of Ovolo Hotels fame, Sarika is an intrepid restaurateur in her own right. A dedicated foodie at heart, she owns several eateries across Hong Kong, including five Cafe O’s, Spice Box and the newly renovated Indian restaurant Veda. Raised in the northwestern Indian state of Haryana as one of 10 siblings, Sarika is now a mother herself and shares three children with her husband.

Co-founder, Xiaomi

Huang made his fortune as one of the six co-founders who started Chinese tech enterprise Xiaomi alongside now-billionaire Lei Jun in 2010, starting as the principal development manager. He would eventually become the company’s vice president, before stepping down in mid-2020 to join the Kering Automotive team as Director to work with its subsidiary, Kaiyun Automobile. Prior to Xiaomi, the Purdue University graduate was at Microsoft for 13 years.
