HK Phil Season Finale

Youthful Finnish maestro Tarmo Peltokoski conducts the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, bringing the 2025-26 season to an end on a volley of high notes. The final concert is headlined by A Sea Symphony, British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams’ expansive 1909 work inspired by Walt Whitman’s mystical American poetry on the themes of exploration and humanity. It also embraces an orchestral work from Finland, Esa-Pekka Salonen’s introspective Pollux (2018), drawing from the mythological Gemini twins.

The Code of The Dynasty

The Code of The Dynasty, scripted by Ma Nan and produced by Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, is an adaptation of Ye Wenbiao’s popular series of novels. The writer, in turn, was inspired by the grand panorama of Along the River During Qingming Festival, a painting by Song dynasty artist Zhang Zeduan, with his words breathing new life into a bustling city scene. The tale’s daring protagonist, Zhao Buyou, digs into hidden mysteries behind lantern-lit streets where scheming officials trade secrets.

Jesus Christ Superstar
